Giving Back to Causes that Inspire
Each year, BrandExtract engages with employees, clients and the broader community by sending out a digital holiday card with season's greetings and fun festive resources. Over the years, our team has created some truly outstanding microsites and landing pages, from a menu of holiday-themed drinks to a comprehensive guide for holiday party planning. But for this year's theme, we decided to focus on one of our core values: Act With Heart.
Every quarter, our team visits a local non-profit to learn more about their impact on our community and to volunteer our time towards their cause. This tradition is core to BrandExtract's identity, and has led to strong relationships with some stellar causes around the Houston area.
For this year's holiday card, we invited team members, clients and the broader BrandExtract community to vote on the charity that resonated with them the most. The organizations that received the most votes would receive a charitable donation from BrandExtract. Now that the votes have been tallied, discover more about the winners and learn how they've inspired us to Act With Heart.
Third Place: The Houston Food Bank
The Houston Food Bank has 40 years of history alleviating hunger across Southeast Texas, and partners with over 1,600 organizations to distribute meals throughout the region. Their services have reached millions of households, and have provided invaluable support during crises such as Hurricane Harvey and the COVID-19 pandemic.
Second Place: Kids' Meals
Kids' Meals is local non-profit that packs and delivers meals to children across Harris County, totaling over 10.3 million meals since their inception in 2006. They focus on providing nutrition to kids without reliable access to healthy foods, supporting their early development and aiding with the eradication of childhood hunger.
First Place: The Houston ToolBank
The Houston ToolBank provides the tools, equipment and expertise organizations need to make a difference in their communities. Since opening in 2014, the Houston ToolBank has equipped 290,000+ volunteers across 1,100+ organizations to complete 23,000+ projects. These projects improve the local community and make Houston a better place to live every year.
The Gift of Inspiration
Over the years, BrandExtract has had the pleasure of volunteering with the above organizations, all of which have given the gift of inspiration to both local and global communities. This year's holiday card was meant to inspire others by showcasing these fantastic charities and supporting their goals.
"For over 18 years our company and team have supported Houston non-profits and the community through acts of service, pro bono work, and financial assistance," said BrandExtract CEO and President Bo Bothe. "When the team came up with this idea as our holiday card, it was a no-brainer and completely aligned with our values."
Houston ToolBank, which received the most votes on the holiday card landing page, is a perfect example of an organization that inspires belief through its steadfast commitment to the community.
"We’re so grateful for BrandExtract’s ongoing support of the Houston ToolBank," said ToolBank Executive Director Marly Maskill. "BrandExtract has provided funds, volunteer hours and in-kind donations since before our first tool order went out in October 2014. Since then, the ToolBank’s tool lending program has grown to equip more than 770 nonprofit organizations across Southeast Texas with the tools and resources to serve their mission and do more work in the community. BrandExtract’s support positions us to better serve all current and future partners of the ToolBank.”
BrandExtract is always honored to work with such outstanding organizations to make a difference in the Houston community and beyond. Going into the new year, the whole team is excited to push the limits of our creativity in order to create, transform and grow.
